1. Introduction

GID Studio (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Simple Tools mobile application (the “Service”). Simple Tools is provided as an ad-supported app with optional free ad-free access options.

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, disclosure, data retention, and data deletion of personal information when you use our Service.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information Collection and Use

Simple Tools is designed with a privacy-first approach.

  • No User Account Required: You do not need to register, create an account, or provide personal identifiable information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the core features of the Service.
  • 100% Local Data Processing: All user-generated content and tool data—including notes, unit conversions, QR/barcode scan history, timer presets, counter stats, and custom settings—are stored and processed locally on your device. We do not transmit, collect, or store your personal app data on GID Studio servers.

3. Third-Party Services and Analytics

To maintain app stability, monitor performance, and provide free access via advertising, Simple Tools uses trusted third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device:

Third-Party Service Providers:

  1. Google Analytics for Firebase: Collects basic app usage analytics, screen views, and interaction statistics to help us improve app performance and user experience.
  1. Firebase Crashlytics: Collects anonymized crash reports, system stack traces, device model, operating system version, and performance diagnostics when an unexpected app error occurs.

4. Data Retention Policy

In compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, our data retention practices are defined as follows:

  1. User Application Data (Stored Locally on Device):
  • Retention Period: All data created or processed within the app (e.g., scan history, saved notes, custom preferences, and tool inputs) remains stored exclusively on your local device storage.
  • Storage Duration: This data is retained indefinitely on your device for as long as the application remains installed, or until you explicitly delete the data within the app or clear the application cache/data via your device settings. GID Studio does not retain or store any copy of your local data on external servers.
  1. Third-Party Diagnostic & Analytics Data:
  • Technical diagnostic logs, performance metrics, and crash data collected automatically by Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics are retained in accordance with Google’s standard data retention schedules (up to 14 months for analytics data and up to 90 days for crash reporting data), after which it is automatically anonymized or deleted by Google.
